The Itiwit stand-up paddle (SUP) board provides a great way to get out onto the water with a surprisingly sturdy feel for an inflatable and a great backpack for getting your board and supplies to the water.  If you are considering taking up SUP boarding then this is a perfect option that won’t hurt your bank balance as much as some of the competition.

The board comes in a very handy backpack with lots of storage space so you don’t have to squeeze it back in after unpacking for the first time like some inflatable products.  It is easy to put together and the instructions are clear.  The only issue is that the pump connection is not a standard one, but conveniently fits the, sold separately, decathlon SUP pump.  This seems a bit cheeky as you pretty much have to buy the decathlon pump as well as the board.  The board does take quite a bit of pumping to get up to the correct pressure, but feels impressively solid when you get there.

It is worth noting that you also need a paddle before getting out on the water, as the board does not come with one.  Once setup the board feels very stable and is good for a beginner.  You can easily walk up and down the board and give it a bit of a wobble without feeling like you’ll be falling in.

There is a small fin that slots into the underside of the board to keep it stable in the water and it seems to be fairly sturdy and will take a few knocks if needed.  The leash included also attaches well and helps stop the board going too far on those rare occasions when you do fall in.

If you are looking for speed then this may not be the right board for you, as there are slimmer boards that will cut through the water better than this one, but for having a bit of a paddle around on a canal, river, lake or even in the sea this is a great option.
